Google splits your numbers in two places: anything that keeps people on Google — directions, calls, photo views, reviews, saves, shares — is counted for you in your Business Profile's Performance report (open your profile and click "Performance"), while anything that sends people to your website shows up in Google Analytics — and that's where these tracking links matter. This tool only tags the links that leave Google and land on a site you control, because those are the only clicks Google Analytics can ever see. Two more heads-ups: Google began retiring the public Q&A section in late 2025 in favor of AI-generated answers, so the best move today is a good FAQ page on your own website — that's what Google's AI pulls from. And if your Book online button is powered by a booking platform (Reserve with Google), that platform controls the link — you can only tag a booking link you added yourself.

Only tagging your Google Business Profile? That's the point. Yelp, Meta, and email traffic are already classified correctly by Google Analytics — tagging them usually creates more noise than signal. Coworking operators get 80% of their local tracking value from their Google profile alone.
